Former Prime Minister of Dominica, Edison James, has issued a call to action directed towards Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, as well as other leaders within the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).
James is urging these leaders to join him and his party, the United Workers Party (UWP), in their ongoing struggle against what they perceive as injustices perpetuated by the current administration led by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.
This statement from James comes in light of a legal issue that remains unresolved and is currently pending in court.
The purpose of this gathering was to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Skerrit. However, following the meeting, a wave of unrest ensued, resulting in the vandalism of multiple businesses in the capital city, Roseau.
In connection with these events, Edison James, along with the President of the UWP, Lennox Linton, and Dr. Fontaine, faces charges related to the disturbances that occurred that day. The situation has escalated into a legal battle, which is still ongoing in the High Court of Dominica.
Following a recent court hearing, James addressed his party supporters, expressing his determination to seek justice and accountability in the face of what he describes as governmental overreach and repression.
His remarks reinforced the UWP’s commitment to challenging the status quo and advocating for the rights of citizens affected by the current regime.
Lol what gaston can do for you Edison? Wait. So everything is Gaston? Poor Gaston Browne
Edison James is a convicted liar and a wicked old man. They tried to overthrow the Government and they failed now they are playing victim in court. What Gaston can do for you Edison? The same Gaston, you and Lennox vilified and called all kinds of name… wicked wicked old man.
Why can’t our leaders learn to get along? Too much division in the world. FIX IT!
What Mr. Skerrit is doing in Dominica, is what Mr. Brown is doing in Antigua.. devide and rule
I believe this whole case is political. This matter is being dragged for too long. I am very disappointed in the Roosevelt Skerrit administration. It’s time to put this matter to sleep.
