Antigua State College
Patrons wanting to sharpen their skillset or expand it can now jump on the opportunity that is being offered by the Antigua State College.
The ASC is now offering six short courses. They arefoundations in video production, cyber security fundamentals, principals of insurance, refrigeration essentials and DIY home maintenance and cake design.
ASC’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Abigail Valentine is encouraging persons to sign up.
“There’s a mix of traditional and non-traditional courses. We’re inviting homemakers, we’re inviting professionals because the refrigeration essentials require you to have some technical skills. We are reaching out to persons already in the field, but we are also encouraging hobbyists. The person who wants to learn to ice their daughters’ birthday cake better, make flowers for a party. The homemaker who wants to learn how to put on a faucet. We are inviting those persons to come in.
“Persons for cyber security who may want to increase their knowledge of online security for themselves, we are encouraging them to come along and do these courses,” Valentine implored.
Courses will take place Mondays through Thursdays from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. It will run for eight weeks beginning on March 10 and ending on May 9.
Having completed the courses, each person is given a certificate of proficiency.
Each course costs $400. Persons wanting to do multiple courses will receive a discount.
Current college students will receive a 50% discount.
Interested individuals can go to the school’s Facebook page and download the registration form from the QR code or send an email at info@asc.edu.ag or call at 462-1434.
These courses are very helpful.
Good initiative. I want to see the college thrive. Many students go through the college and come out ad if they never went. And there are some who are dynamic and powerful. It means who want to learn will learn
I wish some of those courses were virtual to make it easier for people with jobs to attend
