Antigua and Barbuda Cabinet to create initiative for luxury hospitality sector to include local citizens

In a recent cabinet meeting, discussions were held regarding the inclusion of well-off citizens of Antigua and Barbuda in the burgeoning hospitality sector

The government announced plans to set aside prime crown land with ocean views for sale exclusively to local citizens.

This initiative aims to facilitate the construction of luxury rental homes, which will enhance the nation’s overall hospitality offerings.

Several Antiguans and Barbudans have expressed interest in this venture and are currently being evaluated for their capacity to contribute effectively to this sector.

To further illustrate the quality of the proposed developments, the Cabinet has decided to construct sample luxury homes on each of the designated sites.

These homes will serve as tangible examples of the high-standard residences that will be available for investment.

This move not only aims to boost the local economy through tourism but also provides an opportunity for citizens to engage in the lucrative hospitality industry, promoting local entrepreneurship and development in Antigua and Barbuda.

I really think that this is a good idea. But curiosity struck me and I’m wondering if only the rich high class people, who are so closely attached to the government will be the ones able to buy these lands? I mean with all these taxes increase, what is there for the low class? Cause we can’t invest in there type of things.

So you’re basically tell me that the rich people will be getting even richer and the the low class poor people, like myself. Will just watch from the sidelines? Like okay, cool, enjoy your ocean view mansions, yeah.

I get the idea! And no hate, I love the idea, however what about the citizens from the south side? We can’t afford to these expensive properties of course. Guess this is just another government initiative to feed the wealthy and starve the poor. Antigua Surf over and out
