The young pannists at Piggott’s Primary School have embraced the values of hard work and determination, which have likely played a pivotal role in their recent four-time consecutive victory in the primary division of the ACB Caribbean Independence Panorama Competition on October 30th.

Band Manager Kenya Weatherill said this was one of the first principles he shared with his students.

“We instill during practice that we are champions and we don’t intend to lose that just now, so we have to put in the extra time, make the extra effort sometimes, a lot of mosquitos, so we let them dance to get it off,” he said.

He also attributes the good participation they received from the parents. The band continued on its winning ways, capturing the title after a night of competition. Greenbay Primary School placed 1st and TN Kirnon second.

Princess Margaret School also secured a two-peat defeating Antigua Grammar which placed 1st and Ottos.
