CPL action to get underway tonight in Antigua!

Kofi James, Jewel Andrew and Kelvin Pitman will make their debut for the home team

Antigua and Barbuda will welcome back the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) as the first official game for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons is set to bowl off tonight at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium.

The Antigua & Barbuda Falcons are the newest franchise in the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

They were officially unveiled during a gala opening ceremony hosted by the franchise owner, Krishna Persaud earlier this year.

Their home base will be the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.

The 2024 Republic Bank CPL will take place from August 29 to October 6 with matches in Antigua for the first time in 10 years.

Tonight will be the first of several home games for the newly implemented CPL team.

The match is scheduled to begin at 8 pm versus the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

The team will feature several Antiguan and Barbudan cricketers.

Kofi James and Kelvin Pitman will make their return to the CPL while Jewel Andrew will make his debut in the professional league.

The team is coached by cricket legend Shivnarine Chanderpaul.

The other home matches will see the Falcons face the Guyana Amazon Warriors on Friday at 7 pm.

On Sunday morning at 10, they will play the Barbados Royals while on Tuesday, September 3rd at 7 pm they will battle the St. Lucia Kings.

Their final home game is scheduled for Thursday, September 5 versus the Trinbago Knight Riders at 7 pm.

Tickets are also available at the ticket box office at the Antigua Recreation Ground and Rubis gas stations around the island.

There will be a pre-match party and fans can enjoy entertainment 90 minutes before the first ball, and there will also be an afterparty into the nighttime.
