On Tuesday, a special service was held at the Sir Wright George Police Academy to honor six police officers for their extraordinary dedication to policing in Antigua and Barbuda.

National Security Minister and Attorney General, Sir Steadroy Benjamin, along with Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney, attended the event and presented the Meritorious Awards.

Commissioner Rodney encouraged the six officers, who have each served the force for over 40 years, to utilize their experiences to inspire others within the police force.

He emphasized the importance of focusing on their journey and being role models for their colleagues.

The honored officers include:

Clifton Cabral, Assistant Commissioner of Police, who enlisted on October 10, 1983;

Brenda Jacobs, Assistant Superintendent and Quarter Master of the Stores, who also enlisted on the same date;

James Tonge, ASP ‘A’ Division, who joined on July 17, 1984;

Adonis Henry, Inspector of Police ‘C’ Division, who enlisted on December 15, 1984;

Norman Parillon, Inspector of Police, who began his service on January 16, 1984;

and Nigel Browne, Sergeant of Police, who joined on November 2, 1984.

The six distinguished officers received heartfelt congratulations not only from Sir Steadroy but also from Regis Burton, a member of the Police Service Commission.
