Youth Business Hub launched in St Peter’s

Six young entrepreneurs in the constituency of St Peter have been empowered through the launch of a Youth Business Hub there, thanks to the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party’s candidate for that community Rawdon Turner.

Although Turner is a newcomer in the electoral race and has never been in government, he said his vision is to ensure that young businessmen and women can provide for their families and assist the community without having to rely on handouts.

“We are providing an opportunity for them to learn to fish for themselves and not depend on handouts. When you have the opportunity to work for yourself, as your business expands and grows, it provides employment,” he said.

Turner said there is a need to build the private sector and the new business hub is a step in the right direction.

From furniture repair, refurbishing and upholstery, clothing services, bakery, soaps, and skin care productions, and the sale of health foods all form part of the services that will be provided.

The young entrepreneurs thanked the government and Turner for giving them a home to conduct their businesses.
