The UWI appoints five new professors

The UWI has recently elevated five of its top academics to the esteemed rank of Professor.

As per the university’s statement, these professors are leading authorities in the domains of Organic Chemistry, International Law and Global Environment Governance, Environmental Information Modelling and Management, Spatial Information Science, and Special Education.

Both internal and external assessors evaluated the candidates and were duly recommended for promotion based on their outstanding work in teaching, research, publications, and other professional contributions to regional and international communities.

The new Professors are Professor Michael Sutherland, Professor Bheshem Ramlal, Professor Michelle Scobie, Professor Roy Porter, and Professor Stacey Blackman from the St. Augustine, Mona, and Cave Hill Campuses.

These promotions officially came into effect on October 4, 2023, as stated by UWI.
