Opposition Senators Boycott Budget Debate
Today, the Opposition Senators followed the lead of their colleagues and decided to boycott the budget debate in Parliament.
The reason behind this decision is to show solidarity with their elected MP counterparts who believe that the Opposition was not given adequate time to prepare for a debate on last week’s budget.
As a result of the boycott, none of the Opposition Senators showed up in Parliament this morning to take part in the budget debate.
This move is intended to send a strong message to the government authorities that the Opposition is not satisfied with the way the budget debate has been handled.
