A man was swiftly taken to the Sir Lester Medical Centre on Sunday afternoon after an alleged shooting incident near the Public Market in St. John’s.

According to reports, two men were involved in some altercation, during which one of them supposedly retrieved a firearm from his car and proceeded to shoot the other in the mouth.

Subsequently, he returned to his vehicle and drove away.

A circulating video depicts the injured man with blood flowing from his mouth, being comforted by another person.

The injured man’s current condition remains unknown as no information is available.

Not long after, a man was swiftly apprehended by the police

He is currently in custody and will undergo questioning before facing charges.

The victim is currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
