Winning the All Saints West seat in the upcoming election will be no easy task for the UPP’s Anthony Smith, according to the results of two polls commissioned by the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP).

Renowned pollsters Don Anderson and Peter Wickham conducted the polls, and even ABLP leader Gaston Browne was surprised by the results.

Browne noted that the polls showed a significant core of support for the Labor Party in the constituency, indicating a robust backing from constituents.

The ABLP leader emphasized that the party’s performance and achievements, particularly in areas like tourism and economic growth, have resonated positively with the electorate.

“The reality is the Labour Party has a stronger core of support in that constituency today than the UPP, and that has been proven empirically. I tried to understand what is going on because we are still young in the term”, he said

Browne said people have now realized that what the UPP told them was untrue.

“A lot of nuisance and rhetoric were removed. People have settled and realized that tourism is at a record high, and people are working…I think they have reflected and realized that the UPP was spouting a lot of lies.

“They [voters] had this dispensation to believe because they were vexed over Covid-19 and the vaccine mandate. But now everything has settled, and they are looking at things objectively, I think they realize those they elected are not ready for prime time,” Browne said

He added that the UPP has done nothing for their constituencies since the general elections.

The ABLP is poised to win this election, and their success is a testament to their hard work and dedication to the people of Antigua and Barbuda, according to Browne

  1. The people in that constituency are dumber than I think. The UPP is not in government. The ABLP are the ones who are in government and they have the country resources to work with. The UPP only receives $2,000 from the government for constituency development. You tell me how far can $2,000 goes in a large constituency like All Saints West Seat? What the people in that constituency and all the other constituencies are to get Gaston and his cronies out of office in the next general election, if they don’t, we will continue to suffer while Gaston and his cronies become billionaires.
