School’s Theatre Festival gets underway tonight

Five Secondary schools will put their talents on display on the stage as the Secondary School Theatre Festival begins this evening.

The (Antigua and Barbuda National Secondary School Theatre Festival) is a week-long event, showcasing young theatre talent.

 This eagerly anticipated event will bring together some of the most prestigious schools from across the nation to celebrate the arts of theatre and dance in all its splendour.

Princess Margaret School, Clare Hall Secondary School, Jennings Secondary School, Sir Novelle Richards Academy, and Ottos Comprehensive School will all compete at the Dean Williams Lake Cultural Centre starting at 7 pm.

A dance festival will open tonight’s proceedings and will continue tomorrow.

 Meanwhile, PMS will be the first school to take center stage on Wednesday evening with their play ‘Anybody’s Babies’ which was written by their principal Dr. Collin Greene.

OCS and Sir Novelle are scheduled for Thursday 25 April and CHSS and JSS on Friday.

The schools will present their dramas during morning and evening sessions, but the evening sessions will be the judged segment.

Admission is $20 for adults and $15 for children.
