Meteorologist warns of possible thunderstorms later today

Meteorologist Dale Destin has issued a cautionary statement regarding the weather forecast for the evening and tonight.

Destin reports that there is a 50% chance of thunderstorms this evening and a 40% chance before 2 am.

“Although the chance is 50%, be prepared for thunderstorms and associated potential impacts such as death, injury, and damage to electronics and appliances,” Destin advised.

He emphasized the importance of seeking shelter indoors immediately if thunder or lightning is observed. “Wait at least 30 minutes after the last thunderclap before resuming outdoor activities, “he urged.

Destin also noted that a tropical wave is affecting the area, which may bring 5 to 15 mm of rainfall within the next 24 hours.

Residents are encouraged to stay alert and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this period of unstable weather.
