Airline Denies Links Between LIAT and Air Peace Nigeria
LIAT (2020) Limited has issued a statement addressing recent speculation and misinformation regarding its ownership and structure.
The company stated that it is a joint venture between the Government of Antigua and Barbuda (GOAB) and Air Peace Caribbean Limited (APCL), with a shareholding structure of 30% ownership by GOAB and 70% by APCL. Both entities are incorporated under the laws of Antigua and Barbuda.
LIAT (2020) Limited emphasizes that APCL is entirely separate from Air Peace Nigeria Ltd. The statement directly addresses rumors concerning Allen Onyema, CEO of Air Peace Nigeria Ltd who is facing criminal charges: “Mr. Allen Onyema, the CEO of Air Peace Nigeria Ltd, holds no shares, directorship, nor is he involved in APCL or LIAT (2020) Ltd.”
The airline further clarifies: “LIAT (2020) Limited wishes to reassure its stakeholders that the company’s ownership and operations have not been impacted by the incorrect speculations regarding Mr. Onyema. We emphasise that Mr. Onyema has no ownership stake in LIAT (2020) Ltd, and such claims are completely unfounded as they do not exist.”
This clarification comes in response to recent allegations against Allen Onyema, who has been charged in a superseding indictment with obstruction of justice related to an investigation of bank fraud and money laundering. These charges are connected to his role with Air Peace, which is separate from LIAT (2020) Limited.
The statement concludes by reaffirming the airline’s commitment to its mission: “As we continue our mission to provide reliable flight services throughout the region, we are grateful for the ongoing support of our customers, stakeholders and partners. We remain committed to delivering the best, exceptional customer experience, as we strive to connect the Caribbean and SOAR!”
So where APCP capital investment came from???
theres always a story forced for us to believe. There must be a connection behind the scene to hide the main purpose of why Antigua had it own plane which we see when Gaston was peacefully trafficking his Africans. Where is that plane by the way?
Thats a good question where is said plane for today
