Cabinet Disappointed Over Lack of Interest in Proposed Products and Investment Opportunities

The Cabinet expressed its disappointment at the lack of serious interest in various products and investment opportunities that have been presented to the public.

Despite the potential inherent in these offerings, it seems they have not captured the attention of local investors as anticipated.

The Cabinet highlighted that these investment opportunities were specifically designed for local stakeholders, complete with various incentives and concessions intended to encourage participation.

This reluctance to engage may reflect a deeply entrenched culture of risk aversion when it comes to investment.

Over the past decade, several initiatives have been proposed to stimulate interest and drive growth.

Among the most prominent are the Fort James development plan, which was thoroughly developed, circulated, and discussed at a public meeting held at the Multipurpose Centre, as well as the Willoughby Bay development project, the Shell Beach development, and the Morris Bay resort development.

In response to this ongoing challenge, the Cabinet is proposing an investment symposium aimed at uniting stakeholders and potential investors.

This forum will provide a platform for discussions centered on the opportunities available for investment in Antigua and Barbuda, fostering dialogue that could pave the way for future engagement and collaboration.
