Tragic Fatality in Airport Road Crash

30 November 2024 - 08:57

A family is mourning the loss of a loved one who succumbed to injuries sustained in a traffic accident on the Sir George Walter Highway early Friday morning.

The Traffic Department reports that 60-year-old Trevor Roberts from St. Johnson’s Village was traveling from west to east around 6:30 AM when he apparently lost control of his vehicle, resulting in a collision with a utility pole.

Roberts was traveling alone at the time of the accident. He sustained multiple injuries and was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center (SLBMC) by Emergency Medical Services (EMS). When he arrived at the hospital, he was reported to be unconscious and unfortunately never regained consciousness.

At approximately 11:00 PM on Friday, he was pronounced dead in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

His death marks the fourth road fatality of 2024. The Traffic Department has stated that investigations into the incident are ongoing.

  1. Hmmm, I wonder if that photo of the deceased was deliberately selected to send a partisan message. No denying, it does raise questions….

  4. Condolences to the family n friends. However guys. Let’s take this as a warning that speed only takes us one place. There’s is absolutely no reason to be speeding. And after a few days of driving around with my aunt I’ve seen how these cars are going in speed just switching lanes coming down airport road. Let’s protect ourselves and remember that we are not the only ones using these roads. #drivesafely
