ABLP Statement on the Passing of Comrade Ivor Grenville Theophilus Bird
The Antigua & Barbuda Labour Party extends our heartfelt condolences to Comrade Sean Bird, the entire Bird family and the ZDK Liberty Radio family on the passing of Ivor Grenville Theophilus Bird.
Ivor Bird was a true pioneer — a visionary broadcaster who forever changed the media landscape of Antigua and Barbuda.
His founding of ZDK Liberty Radio brought the nation its first commercial radio station, creating a powerful platform for news, entertainment, and community connection that remains impactful to this day.
Beyond his contributions to media, Ivor was also a distinguished athlete, a staunch patriot committed to national development, and a proud son of a family whose history is deeply intertwined with the growth of our beloved nation.
His dedication to national service and community will be remembered by all.
