CEO Hafsah Abdulsalam has emphasized LIAT’s commitment to improving regional air travel. She highlighted the need to reduce travel fees and taxes, arguing that current costs hinder Caribbean interconnectivity.

After the inaugural flight to Trinidad and Tobago, Abdulsalam told reporters that lowering these costs could attract more island travelers and ultimately generate greater revenue than the taxes imposed.

While she acknowledged that solving this issue won’t be immediate, Abdulsalam expressed commitment to making travel more affordable, which can lead to increased travel and, consequently, better revenue for governments.
