Two Antiguans receive King’s New Year Honours

Chairman, Campus Council, of The University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus Aziz Fares Hadeed and Deputy Commissioner of Police Everton Glenroy Jeffers

Two prominent Antiguans have been recognized in the King’s 2025 New Year Honours List announced at St. James’s Palace, London on December 31, 2024.

Aziz Fares Hadeed, Chairman of The University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus Council, has been appointed Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George (KCMG) for his contributions to Antigua and Barbuda’s economy and social development.

Deputy Commissioner Everton Glenroy Jeffers of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda has been awarded the King’s Police Medal (KPM) in recognition of over four decades of service to law enforcement.

The appointments were made on the advice of His Majesty’s Antigua and Barbuda Ministers and published in The London Gazette.
