Victor McKay Sr., one of the last remaining members of the former Progressive Labour Movement (PLM) Government, has passed away.

He died early Monday morning after being elected to office during the 1971 elections, representing the St. Mary’s South constituency on the PLM ticket.

In addition to his political career, Mr. McKay served as a Senator in the Upper House of Antigua and Barbuda.

A dedicated Anglican, he was also the Superintendent of the Sunday School at St. John’s Cathedral.

For many years, he operated a well-known grocery store located on lower All Saints Road, near the St. John’s Public Market.
