UPP Political Hopeful Wants Residents to Hold Gov’t Accountable for Crime

Wayne Marsh

Attorney Wayne Benjamin Marsh is urging residents to demand accountability from the government and law enforcement regarding the rising crime and violence in Antigua and Barbuda.

The nation recently recorded its first homicide of the year, with the tragic shooting of Javaughn Williams from Old Road during a confrontation with another individual.

“We are facing a serious issue in Antigua and Barbuda. Instead of addressing the crime crisis head-on, our Prime Minister has suggested to the youth that they should dispose of their illegal firearms. Is this the type of leadership we expect?” Marsh expressed at a recent UPP meeting in St. Peter.

“Today marks January 2, 2025, and we are already grieving the loss of yet another Antiguan. It is often difficult to grasp the severity of the situation until it personally affects us,” he continued.

In 2024, the country experienced a surge in criminal activities, which saw a notable decline following the intervention of Prime Minister Gaston Browne and other officials.

“Every crime, whether it be murder, theft, robbery, or aggravated assault, is one too many, and we must always keep this in mind. Recently, there has been a rise in gun violence in Antigua and Barbuda, along with an increase in sexual assaults and altercations in our schools, particularly among our youth,” Marsh stated.

Mr Marsh you said there was a rise in crime until the intervention of the prime minister, but in the same breath you are saying that there is a rise in gun violence. Isn’t gun violence a crime? So how can crime be on the decline, but gun violence be on the rise, or maybe I am reading it wrong..

Typical of the gay desperados, it is not surprising that the least among them (arguably) – Wayne Marsh – would jump on the first homicide for 2025 to continue his soapbox efforts to become visible to the electorate at large. Why doesn’t this proven LIAR allow the real facts to come to the public. Was the murder not one stemming from a DOMESTIC dispute? This does not make it less painful to know but why does this LYING NOBODY seek to score the cheapest of political points by insinuating, actually stating that this terrible act was linked to Government’s failure to address crime in this country? Have you and your desperado ex-cop “friend” solved the mystery of your nonsensical assassination plot yet? Wayne Marsh, you are a pathetic nobody!
The higher this monkey climbs, the more it exposes its filthy behind.
