Turner meets with constituents during recently held blitz

Rawdon Turner, the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) candidate in today’s St. Peter by-election, has already shared his vision for the constituency and the key issues he plans to tackle if elected.

Turner is widely favored to secure a victory.

Opinion polls by Peter Wickham indicated that Turner is ahead of his opponent, the UPP’s George Wehner. However, a poll conducted by another political pollster suggested that both individuals have a fair chance.

He said advancing the infrastructure projects in the region will be his highest priority.

Turner said these efforts were underway before the by-election was foreseen.

Turner firmly believes that providing individuals with their own homes is one of the most significant forms of empowerment, aside from education.

Furthermore, Turner is dedicated to ongoing developments in the area, such as the rehabilitation of the Pares Sports Complex, where basketball and netball activities are set to resume soon.

Acknowledging the importance of education, Turner recognizes that young people in St. Peter, like their peers across the nation, aspire to pursue higher education for their professional and personal growth.

He positions himself as a facilitator in helping the youth of St. Peter achieve their dreams and goals in their chosen fields.

The by-election was prompted by the unexpected passing of former representative Asot Michael on November 5, 2024. Turner is focused on addressing critical needs within the community.
