Winston Williams with Teacher and Students of Bendals Primary
On Valentine’s Day, Winston Williams Jr. returned to the Bendals School to fulfill a promise made to the teachers and students of Grades 5 and 6 to support the repainting of their classroom floors.
Joined by the “Better Together” Team, students, and Deputy Principal Mrs. Ester Anthony, Mr. Williams handed over three gallons of gray floor paint. The team then mobilized to clean and paint the floors of grades 4,5and 6, supported by a contingent of grade 5 & 6 students.
Williams extends special thanks to professional painter Mr. Mark April, who contributed additional paint, tools, guidance and labour to complete the effort.
Commenting on the exercise, Mr. Williams said, “On this symbolic day of love, I am delighted to be part of this effort under the “Strive for Excellence” Initiative, where the “Better Together” Team and Hope Tree Foundation have come together to improve the aesthetics of Bendals Primary. We look forward to continuing our service to educational institutions in St. Mary’s North in the coming weeks and months.”
The “Strive for Excellence” Initiative encompasses several educational programmes in St. Mary’s North targeted toward supporting educational institutions, enhancing student development, promoting agricultural entrepreneurship, and fostering community engagement.
