SHOCKING VIDEO: Police Attacks Journalist During Protest in Dominica

19 March 2025 - 13:32

The media landscape in Dominica is reeling after a shocking incident where a police officer “handled” a reporter from EMO news.

Eyewitnesses were horrified to see the officer aggressively confront the journalist, attempting to prevent her from capturing footage of a major protest demanding electoral reform.

The officer’s voice can be heard in a video telling the reporter to “Get Out,” a clear indication of the suppression of press freedom.

This incident has ignited outrage among media representatives and the public alike.

As tensions rise and the protests intensify, the call for accountability has never been more urgent. What we are witnessing is not just an attack on a journalist but an alarming threat to free speech and democracy in Dominica.

The world is watching—what will happen next?

The reporters phone was also taken and distroyed by lawmen according to her boss.

  1. This has to be the most dotish story reported. Journalist are not above the law and must comply with lawful instructions of the police. But typical of you all to play victim.

    • The man that was standing right there who she backed up to is a media person. There were other media there, which is what she was saying to him. She works with independent media and as such she was targetted.

  2. Without reporters, people like Anonymous wouldn’t have a life. Now to add my 7th sence. It seems she is standing in a public place. He had no right to drag her Camera. Police always believes they are above the law everywhere. It is the spirit that drives them crazy. That eighty something old man they dragged and dumped in the back of the vehicle. They had to eventually drop charges against the man now they are being investigated. That poor dude who was on his way to work in Parham they gave a slam because he looked “suspicious.” Manny James…Killed while running away. Bruce Greenaway. Oh well justice will prevail. The final judge is NOT a man and he will NOT let their deeds remain unjudged. So police carry on………………..tick tock…your time will come

  7. And that’s not even the thing that made me angry. The mannerism of that officer who is supposed to protect the law. I saw some of these posts on Facebook and I was thinking to myself policemen in Dominica dont behave like that at all. So they must be under a spell..

  10. The officer needs to apologize to the young lady. Don’t he have a mother? Sister? Daughter? This is wrong on all levels!
