VIDEO: Waste collection measures to enhance in the City

Waste collection has been another issue plaguing the beautification of the city’s streets but efforts to improve this process is being looked at.

Many times, businesses put out their garbage for collection but the timelines they do so does not correlate with garbage trucks, this results in garbage piling up on the sidewalk, an unsightly site for many.

According to Rawdon Turner, government will be clamping down on specific legislation relating to waste collect in the City as there is a timeline for when waste should and should not be out on the sidewalk.

From 7am-4:30pm, no garbage should be out on the streets.

Turner says litter wardens will also be deployed to assist in enforcing these laws.

  1. People should also collaborate more, having a clean city is not only about the government, it also depends on the people, not throwing garbage in the street, about leaving dirty places, we must collaborate more.

  6. The problem is the failure of the garbage collection people to collect the trash in a timely manner. Listen. Every day, I see my business and the surrounding area turning into a garbage heap because the timing is completely off. We put our trash out, thinking it’s all set for pickup, only to have it sit there for hours, sometimes even longer. Sometimes it takes days. So now this newly come minister finds we are the problem when we are truly not
