Hotel Steward Faces 90-Day Ban After Reckless Incident ( Keith Michaels Insurance)
The Magistrate’s Court in St John’s has issued a 90-day driving ban to 58-year-old hotel steward Franklin Shoy after he pleaded guilty to driving without insurance.
The incident occurred on May 22 when police on a mobile patrol noticed Shoy’s vehicle halted in the middle of Anchorage Road, near a bridge, where he was engaged in conversation with a young woman.
Upon approaching Shoy, officers inquired about the obstruction, to which he explained he was offering the woman a ride. Despite his apology, Shoy was arrested, and his vehicle was impounded at the Government Motor Pool.
In court, Shoy acknowledged that his vehicle lacked both licensing and insurance, citing financial difficulties that prevented him from regularizing the situation. Acting Chief Magistrate Dexter Wason admonished Shoy for his choices, emphasizing the danger posed to himself and others.
Shoy was fined $2,500, with the stipulation that the payment be made within 30 days, or he would face a month-long prison sentence.
Some people just know how to bring shame and embarassment to their families.
How would driving without license and insurance bring shame to a family Is he not an adult that is responsible fully responsible for his own actions? Did they catch him stealing or doing buggering?
Is he the only one who has ever driven a vehicle without licen and insurance? certainly not, and he will not be the last……so where is the shame? not in agreement with what he did but where is the shame?
How that poses danger to himself and others? The stoplights are what poses a danger
the thing is the woman didn’t want no ride from him you know you no straight and still a pappy show
Yeah this is a tough one. Rather unfortunate. Hope. He found the money somehow.
At least I hope the others learn. But charging this man and all now the police woman daughter can’t be charged for reckless driving and causing death while driving.
Another example of how easy it is for women to get you all in trouble
