The Rotary Club of Antigua has welcomed a new executive team, marking an important transition in its leadership.
During a recent handover ceremony, the club celebrated the accomplishments of the 2024-2025 Rotary Year, transitioning leadership from outgoing President Sherrie-Ann Brazier to incoming President Elisa Graham.
In her farewell address, Sherrie-Ann Brazier reflected on the club’s achievements over the past year, expressing gratitude to the outgoing Board of Directors and fellow Rotarians for their support. She also extended her best wishes to incoming President Elisa and her new team as they embark on the upcoming Rotary Year.
With a fresh leadership team in place, the Rotary Club of Antigua aims to build on its prior successes and enhance its community impact, guided by the 2025 maxim “Unite for Good” as put forth by Rotary International.
In her inaugural address, President Elisa thanked her family, friends, and club members for the opportunity to lead the organization this year. She emphasized that “Unite for Good” encapsulates the essence of the club’s mission—to unite individuals from diverse backgrounds to create a significant and enduring positive impact.
Elisa highlighted plans to focus on membership growth while fostering engagement. The club will continue its dedication to the global eradication of Polio through the Rotary Foundation and will initiate specific projects aimed at mentorship, literacy, education, and life skills for vulnerable youth, including plans to renovate the National Youth Intervention Centre.
Additionally, the club seeks to create new scholarship opportunities through partnerships with the University of the West Indies, Five Islands Campus (UWIFIC), and the Antigua and Barbuda Institute of Continuing Education (ABICE).
The club will also continue its legacy projects, including Education Through Technology, a sewing initiative active in 12 centers across the island, and the Meals on Wheels program.
President Elisa underscored the significance of public support for the club’s annual fundraiser, this year titled “Colours of the Wild Wild West.” This event is crucial for financing impactful community projects and donations. The fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 8 PM to 2 AM at the Coolidge Cricket Grounds.
The newly formed Board of Directors includes Immediate Past President Sherrie-Ann Brazier; President Elect Anastasia Wilson; Vice President Vanetta Rodgers; Secretary Nikki Laville Benjamin; Treasurer Kadesh Bailey; Rotary Foundation Director Evangeline Allen; Membership Chair Samoya Kirby; Club Administrator Linda Watkins; Service Projects Director Paul Ryan; Youth Services Director Rosanne Emmanuel; Public Image Chair Sherwyn Greenidge; and Training Officer Denise Armstrong.
