Police report that they have arrested three individuals after a search warrant execution revealed a large amount of ammunition and firearm accessories

In a significant operation, local authorities have arrested three individuals from Sutherlands in connection with unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

The suspects, identified as 30-year-old Daquan George, 27-year-old Tanesha Martin, and 19-year-old Taliek Aska, were taken into custody following a search conducted by officers from the Gang and Guns Suppression Unit (GAGSU).

On Wednesday, July 31, 2025, GAGSU executed a search warrant at a residence in Sutherlands. During the search, officers uncovered an extensive cache of ammunition and firearm-related items, which included:

•⁠ ⁠Eleven (11) 12-gauge shotgun rounds
•⁠ ⁠Seven (7) 9mm rounds
•⁠ ⁠Thirty-six (36) 7.62mm rounds
•⁠ ⁠Twenty (20) .22 rounds
•⁠ ⁠Twenty-three (23) .45 rounds
•⁠ ⁠Eighteen (18) .44 rounds
•⁠ ⁠Seventeen (17) .25 rounds
•⁠ ⁠Nine (9) .38 rounds
•⁠ ⁠Two (2) Smith & Wesson magazines
•⁠ ⁠One (1) Glock 9mm magazine
•⁠ ⁠One (1) Smith & Wesson .40 caliber magazine
•⁠ ⁠One (1) Sig Sauer 9mm magazine
•⁠ ⁠One (1) “Patent Pending” 9mm/.40SW speed loader
•⁠ ⁠One (1) flat-back Chinese AK-47 magazine

Following the discovery of these items, the trio was charged with multiple offenses relating to the possession of firearms and ammunition. They are set to appear in court on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. The police have not disclosed whether additional arrests are anticipated in connection with this case.
