Thief Makes Quick Escape with Bus Driver's Cash

A passenger escaped on Wednesday with a large sum of money after snatching the bus driver’s money bag while he was changing a tire.

A report of larceny was made regarding the theft of $2,000.00 USD and $1,500.00 ECC from a silver Toyota Hiace Motor Bus at Everyday Service Station.

The bus driver said he left a red and black money bag containing cash in the motor bus while he went to fix a tire, leaving several passengers inside.

Upon returning, he discovered the money had been stolen. The victim noted that a passenger who exited the bus in the vicinity of Parliament Drive, near the former Thomas Service Station, began to flee.

The victim pursued the individual and managed to capture the passenger. A search was conducted, recovering some of the stolen money.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of larceny and taken to the local police station.

  4. “Thief Makes Quick Escape with Bus Driver’s Cash” the crime in Antigua won’t stop until somebody kill out all the criminals. The man hard earning from driving back and forth all day you trying to take from him? Shame shame shame

  5. Lol. SOME of the money was found?
So between the gas station and where he was caught where could have have spent the money.
This bus driver is very trusting but I’m sure he has learned his lesson. And that 2000US sounds kinda not believable

    • The US dollars could be true… remember family members came in for carnival and also children will be going off to college and universities. It could be bus driver(s) has been accumulating US dollars to give his loved ones going off to their studies or preparing for a family vacation trip. There could be a lot of reasons why the US dollars were among the cash taken. Don’t quick to be not unbelievable.

  6. This whole story sounds like a very poorly written homework assignment submitted by a fifth grader.

  7. They’re so many things wrong within this article that don’t make sense to me or maybe how it was written . Cause at the point of return and not seeing the money the Bus wasn’t moving.

  8. No one is safe not even a poor bus driver carrying people on a daily basis. Instead of paying the man you stealing his money eh. Welp

  9. So a bus driver cannot even go abd buy gas. Who can be trusted? Passengers doing that kind of thing? The story was funny but not so funny

  10. This is a good outcome. It’s so frustrating to hear about hardworking people like bus drivers being targeted by thieves. They’re just trying to make an honest living, and for someone to brazenly rob them is just wrong.
