The Ministry of Works is pressing forward with the construction of resilient concrete roads in Tyrells, Lightfoot, and Bay Street, as part of a nationwide push to modernise Antigua and Barbuda’s road network.

Officials say the new roads are being built with reinforced concrete designed to withstand both the wear of daily traffic and the damaging effects of extreme weather events. The project is part of a broader infrastructure strategy aimed at reducing costly maintenance and ensuring safer, longer-lasting roadways for residents.

Work is being carried out in phases to minimise inconvenience, but the Ministry is advising motorists to expect temporary disruptions, including detours and slower traffic flow in the affected areas.
