Police Probe Break-In at New Winthropes Church

Police have launched an investigation after thieves broke into the New Winthropes Seventh-Day Adventist Church and stole several valuable items.

The incident occurred sometime between 8 p.m. on September 16 and 5:45 a.m. the following morning. Officers responding to the report discovered that intruders had forced open six metal louvers on an eastern window to gain entry.

Once inside, the burglars removed a television from the children’s hall, stole a refrigerator from a nearby room, and went upstairs, where they made off with a 72-inch television. Another television of the same size, located nearby, was damaged in the process. The culprits are believed to have exited through an eastern wooden door.

Investigators interviewed several individuals and conducted searches for the stolen property, but the items were not recovered. The scene was processed by forensic officers, and inquiries are continuing.
