WATCH: Widespread Flooding Reported Across Antigua as Heavy Rains Continue

Residents across Antigua are reporting widespread flooding this morning as heavy rains associated with Tropical Storm Jerry continue to drench the island.

From St. John’s to Bolans, All Saints, and Clare Hall, several communities have reported rising waters on roads and in low-lying areas. Motorists have described difficult driving conditions, with some roads partially submerged and drains overflowing.

The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service confirmed that while Jerry is now moving northwest and away from the Leeward Islands, bands of moisture trailing the system continue to dump significant rainfall over the country.

A flash flood advisory remained in effect until 8:00 a.m., but officials warned that it may be extended if the rains persist. Forecasters estimate rainfall totals of up to two inches over the next several hours, with thunderstorms possible throughout the day.

Emergency officials are urging residents to stay indoors where possible, avoid flooded roadways, and report any dangerous conditions to the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS).
