Anthony Smith welcomed by ABLP members on the day of his swearing in

Minister of Agriculture Anthony Smith has confirmed he will contest the next general election on the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party ticket, declaring on Facebook Tuesday that he is “Reddy now”.

In a post showcasing a professional campaign portrait showing him in a red tie and ABLP lapel pin, Smith signalled the formal end of his independent political brand, telling supporters: “We’re still Legit with Smith; we are just ‘Reddy’ now.”

Smith broke from the United Progressive Party in 2024 and has since served as an independent minister in the Browne administration.

He is expected to contest All Saints West against Harold Lovell.
