The Medical Association of Antigua and Barbuda Inc. (MAAB) expresses its profound sadness and deep concern following the devastating fire that ravaged the Gambles Medical Centre in St. John’s, severely impacting the offices and infrastructure of several businesses and medical offices.

We stand in solidary with Dr. Bernard Evan-Wong (Dentist), Dr. Hanybal Yazigi (Oncologist), Dr. Leon B. Stevens (Obstetrician and Gynaecologist), Dr. Sharon Cordner (Internist & Rheumatologist), Dr. Edda Hadeed (Paediatrician), and Dr. Asha Robins (Surgeon) during this incredibly difficult time. The loss of their physical spaces, critical equipment, and years of patient records is not just a personal loss, but a significant blow to the healthcare landscape of Antigua and Barbuda.

  2. The fire officers need to be sent home! That fire didnt have to destroy the place like that. Five trucks only one with water. It ran out and they tried pumping from pond. Pump dont work
    4 left to get water while building burn.
    2 lawyers. Multiple doctors a dentist. Omg man some body must pay for this. That fire Chief need to be fired. We spend so much on the fire dept. Heads must roll. Enough is enough.
