Police look into alleged sexual assault incident in Point
Police have launched an investigation into an alleged sexual assault involving a 10-year-old girl in the Pointe area.
Reports indicate that the child’s mother brought her to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), where she reported that her daughter had allegedly been sexually assaulted by a known male. The incident reportedly occurred shortly after midnight on May 4.
Law enforcement officials subsequently interviewed the child in the presence of her mother as part of the ongoing investigation.
The child was later taken to the Support and Referral Centre (SARC), where she underwent a medical examination by a district doctor.
Investigations remain ongoing as police continue their inquiries into the matter.
