PM Browne instructs APUA to create its own road repairs department

For years, motorists have been plagued by the lack of synergy between APUA and Public Works regarding road repairs after APUA had done some work on water pipes.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has revealed that that dilemma will now be resolved as APUA has been instructed to establish its own road repair department.

PM Browne explained that other avenues have been attempted to create that synergy but failed. This is now the next step.

“APUA is going to have their own patch crew. The Cabinet has instructed them now to do so. We said to them invest in people who can operate the patching equipment. So, you dig the hole, you patch it. That’s our policy going forward,” PM Browne said.

Road work continues in several areas on the island and additional heavy-duty equipment arrived on the island to aid in those repairs.

Training additional persons to operate this machinery will also come into play as discussions are ongoing to pay current heavy-duty operators to train interested folk.
