The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) recently donated cleaning supplies to the Fiennes Institute as part of its of social outreach practices.
In making the presentation to the institution, Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Elisa Graham explained that “we are very happy to be here to make this contribution to the Fiennes Institute after holding discussions with the staff who indicated that cleaning products go a long way in enhancing the care offered at the facility. The donation is made possible through individual contributions for ABEC’s team members who are equally excited about giving back to the community”.
Matron of Fiennes, Mrs. Clarissa Christopher, spoke on behalf of the facility and thanked ABEC for the timely gesture.
“We welcome this timely donation, and the supplies will go a long way in assisting us in our
endeavors to maintain a wholesome atmosphere for our residents. We are truly grateful”.
The Commission is committed to supporting the care giving facility by assisting in areas where
needs exist and enhancing well-being and human connections.
You know in all fairness donations such as this should be done on a regular basis, not only to the Fiennes but to include Clare View home for the girls and so on.
All these cleaning products will end up in some Fiennes staff homes. Many businesses in Antigua would love to do more for these government healthcare facilities, including the hospital and mental care facilities; however, there is no accountability and staff-sticky fingers.
