Tragic News: Prominent Figure in Hospitality Sector Alex De Brito Passes Away

Alex De Brito

Alex De Brito, a prominent figure in the hospitality industry and the beloved head of the Galley Bay Resort and Spa, has passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He died on Sunday in Miami, leaving behind a legacy that greatly impacted the tourism landscape.

De Brito embarked on his career in the hotel and tourism sector in 1983 as a travel agent, where he began to cultivate his passion for hospitality.

His journey then led him to Paris, where he transitioned into the restaurant and bar industry, honing his skills and deepening his understanding of guest experience and service.

In 1998 he was hired at the Casa de Campo Resort and Villas in the Dominican Republic and later moved to Allegro where he stayed until 1999.

He was then hired by Elite Resorts in  Antigua and Barbuda as Vice President of Operations.

    I knew Alex personally. Always a very loving and kind. He was kind to his staff and always looked for opportunities to bless them. He was a family man and he was a true white black man. RIP
