The Prime Minister commends the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF’s) Air Wing for their timely and efficient service.
PM Gaston Browne utilized Air Force One, one of the two aircraft in the ABDF Fleet, to attend the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) meetings in St. Kitts and Nevis last week.
“I am very thankful to the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force, they have two aircraft now and they will be added a third later on in the air. So, the Airwing if functional, it is very important from the standpoint of evacuations.
“Last year, I am told they would have done at least 200 plus operation between Antigua and Barbuda, most of them were evacuations for medical purposes. They are very important assists to have as we continue to expand the air wing,” the Prime Minister said.
He also explained that wait time associated with traveling this route had reduced significantly.
Congrats on the achievement but as cool as it may sound this plane should not be called air-force one. There is a military reason why that designation is only given to a plane the president of the United States flies in
