Rowan Matthew and Foston George
The legal saga involving Customs brokers Rowan Matthew and Foston George continues to intensify with the two being jointly charged with committing eight more offences.
The two individuals have been entangled in a web of charges related to alleged fraudulent activities concerning the Customs and Excise Department.
Matthew and George find themselves implicated in about five cases of fraud with over 20 charges in total.
On Tuesday, they were slapped with eight more charges which are similar to those in their other cases.
They include: electronic forgery, cheating public revenue, making false declarations and conspiracy to defraud.
These charges are in relation to nearly $31,000 they are alleged to have obtained illegally.
In all of their matters, the allegations suggest that the individuals exploited duty-free concession codes from the government to circumvent tax payments and divert funds from their clients.
Their alleged scams have reportedly resulted in millions being stolen.
