Official Document: DCA tells Sagicor to remove the barbed wire fence

The Development Control Authority (DCA) has directed Sagicor Insurance to remove the barbed wire fencing installed along Factory Road, citing significant safety concerns.

The razor wire, reportedly intended to enhance security, poses a severe risk to the public, particularly during the festive carnival season.

Carnival goers traditionally line the fence to watch the parade, and in the event of an emergency, the presence of barbed wire could result in serious injuries.

This potential hazard reportedly undermines the carnival’s spirit and attendees’ well-being, prompting the DCA to urgently call for its removal.

Residents say it’s a bit of a head-scratcher why a major insurance company would suddenly decide to make its headquarters look like a supermax prison just days before the carnival.

***COULD THIS BE THE REASON WHY SAGICOR TOOk SUCH MEASURES***
