Over the next three years, a remarkable investment exceeding $1 billion is poised to transform the nation’s tourism industry, bringing unprecedented growth and opportunity.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne has highlighted Barbuda as a shining example of advancement and a land rich with possibilities.
He indicated that Barbuda is set to thrive as a vital contributor to our country’s economic prosperity.
Significant financial commitments are already evident, according to the prime minister, with over $1.5 billion dedicated to the PLH Development, along with more than $57 million allocated to the development of the Paradise Found Resort so far.
These substantial investments he said underscore Barbuda’s emergence as a pivotal player in driving our national success.
Looking ahead to 2025, an additional $300 million is earmarked for PLH, contributing to a staggering total investment of $5 billion upon the project’s completion.
Furthermore, according to PM Browne, next year will see an infusion of $84 million directed towards the Paradise Found project, promising to enhance the island’s allure even more.
Silver Sands Resort is also to commence preparatory works later this year.
According to Browne, these initiatives are not merely projects; they represent a surge of income and employment opportunities for countless families.
According to Browne, by embracing these developments, Barbuda is poised to play a central and dynamic role in shaping the future of our nation.
Meanwhile, Browne said projects at Pensioners Beach, Morris Bay, Willoughby Bay, and Shell Beach offer Antiguans and Barbudans the opportunity to invest in prime coastal areas, establishing ventures such as Airbnb’s, condominiums, and residential properties.
“We will also establish a golf course on the Northwestern coast of Barbuda and make lots available to Barbudans to construct Air BnB properties so that they can participate in this lucrative sector,” he said during the budget presentation
