The political landscape of St. Peter has come alive with a by-election just around the corner
The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party candidate, Rawdon Turner, kicked off his campaign in a dynamic manner.
This past weekend, he hosted a “Campaign Blitz,” traversing the streets and personally connecting with resident’s eager to share their thoughts and concerns.
Accompanied by Prime Minister Gaston Browne, Tourism Minister Charles Max Fernandez and MP for St. Paul, E.P. Chet Greene, Turner said his walk through the village was not just about rallying support; it was a heartfelt effort to understand the pulse of the community.
“I got an opportunity to listen to the voices of the people, their concerns and their needs” he told Antigua.news
As the by-election date, January 14th, approaches, the competition is heating up. Against him stands George Wenher of the United Progressive Party, all eyes are on this crucial contest following the passing of beloved MP Asot Michael.
The residents of St. Peter find themselves at the center of a pivotal moment, with their choice set to shape the future of their representation.
Turner said politics is not just about campaigns but also about the people and the community they serve.
You always had the opportunity to listen to the voices of the people in the St. Peter’s constituency, Mr. Turner, you just never heard them until now, that you need a favor..
Not apart of the St. Peter’s Community but i wanna say… campaign blitz or not, let’s see if Turner can deliver on his promises. It’s easy to walk through the streets and listen, but will he actually take action once elected? let’s begin to think about this. Asot was the only one that actualy did what he said he would.
Well. If Asot had not died Turner wouldn’t have stood a chance. For every blood shed someone gains life. More life to you Turner. Don’t become an Asot
It’s going to be interesting to see how this election plays out. Asot’s death left a huge gap in St. Peter’s and as Rawdon said himself, no one can fill Asot’s place and that is true words
Elections around the corner again everyone fighting to be number one making promises and they all forget about everyone when they get what they want
