Popular Jamaican disc jockey dies suddenly

One of Jamaica’s most popular disc jockey, music producers and radio personality, Arif Cooper, has died.

According to media reports from Jamaica, Cooper reportedly collapsed while playing at a party early this morning.

The incident took place in the Cooperate Area. When Cooper was transported to the hospital, he was pronounced dead there.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

​Cooper’s family is not a stranger to the music industry. In fact, his father, Michael ‘Ibo’ was the founder of the iconic Reggae group, Third World. His father exposed him to music legends like Bob Marley and Stevie Wonder.

Cooper has also worked with some of dancehall’s biggest names, including Vybz Kartel, Sean Paul, Tami Chynn, Jah Cure, Elephant Man, Baby Cham, Demarco, Aidonia, Konshens, Wayne Marshall and Christopher Martin.
