A police officer who tried to intervene during a robbery at Roti King last night has been shot.

According to reports, the officer was off duty. He was shot in the leg. His injuries are not life-threatening,

Sources say two men entered Roti King just a little after 10 o’clock last night demanding money from the staff.

They both had guns. The off-duty police officer who was nearby heard the commotion and intervened. He was shot in the knee during an exchange of gunfire.

The robbers fled the scene with an undisclosed sum of money. They were unharmed.

Police are investigating the matter.
