Antigua and Barbuda has inked an agreement with INDIA Stack a successful digital solution implemented at population scale.

India Stack is essentially a set of digital infrastructure components that enables the delivery of various digital services to Indian citizens utilizing Asdhaar, eSign, Digilocker, and Unified payments interface (UPI).

Information Minister Melford Nicholas signed the MOU on the behalf of Antigua and Barbuda during the Global Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Summit held on the sidelines of the third meeting of G20 digital Economy Working Group held earlier this month at Pune in India.

The two-day DPI Summit included ten Panel Discussions on sector agnostic and sectoral DPIs were held.

Around 60 Global Experts on DPIs held the insightful, thought provoking, and outcome-oriented discussions. On the first day of the Summit, four sessions on DPI namely ‘Overview of Digital Public Infrastructure’, ‘Digital Identities for empowering people’, ‘Digital Payments and Financial Inclusion’, ‘DPI for Judicial Systems and Regulations’ were held.

On the second day, six DPI Sessions were held on Digital Document Exchange for efficient service delivery, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for DPI, Digital Education and Skilling, DPI for Digital Health and Climate Action, Digital Agriculture Ecosystem, and Building the Global DPI Ecosystem.

A Global DPI exhibition was also held which showcased 14 experience zones comprising DPI based use-cases in Identity, Payment, Paperless Governance, Digital Agriculture, Education & Skilling, Healthcare, and the Digital India Journey.

The Summit attracted a large number of participants including 150 delegates from 50 foreign countries.

India said it is committed to transforming not only itself but also its partner countries especially CARICOM Member States into a digitally empowered society.

India has also invited the participation of two officials with experience in DPI/ICT related domains from the CARICOM Member States in the customized training program under Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme of Government of India being organized on Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) in August 2023.
