Man Who Sold Plot of Land to Thirty People Granted Bail

A man who allegedly sold a plot of land to over 30 people has been granted bail.

The land reportedly did not belong to Eldridge Martin who has been charged with 13 counts of fraudulent conversion, 13 counts of obtaining credit by fraud, and one count of larceny for over $65,000.

Martin appeared before the court earlier this month and according to reports, police started a rigorous investigation after receiving a report from an elderly woman from Liberta that she was defrauded

She reported to law enforcement that she bought a piece of land from Martin for $65,000 but found out later that the land does not belong to him

Reports are that Martin took the elderly woman to the land and instructed her to erect a fence around it but the woman said she found out later that the land that she bought and paid for belonged to a church that was nearby

Later it was revealed that Martin was facing criminal charges for using that same piece of land for alleged fraud.

Some of the cases date as far back as the 1990s.
