The sudden passing of Ricardo Drue has led the Government of Antigua and Barbuda to express their condolences to his parents, family members, friends, and fans.

Ricardo Drue, who was born in Antigua and Barbuda, was a rising talent in the Caribbean and Trinidad and Tobago, where his mother hails from. He was known as one of the most gifted artists.

The Prime Minister acknowledged that both the youth and adults of Antigua and Barbuda were drawn to Drue’s exceptional talent and that his future was destined for greatness.

The Government stands in solidarity with his family, friends, and fans during this difficult time. Drue’s death is a significant loss for the Soca music community, as he was highly regarded and respected by all. He was so well-respected that his passing has left a void in Soca that will be difficult to fill.

The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission recognized his talent and appointed him as a Cultural Ambassador, giving him the responsibility to promote festivals in Antigua and Barbuda.

He was loved and embraced by all, and his absence will be felt by many. May his soul rest in peace and rise in glory.
