Kman-6ixx Removed from Dominica Fete following cancellations in Antigua and other islands

The organisers of a forthcoming concert in Dominica have removed Trinidad-based artist Kman-6ixx from the lineup due to unspecified “national security concerns.”

Notably, this is not the first time Kman-6ixx has faced such issues, with several other islands having previously banned his performances.

He has been denied entry in Antigua, Grenada, and St Kitts, the latter of which resulted in the cancellation of an event titled “OBSESSED—All Black Affair.”

The artist, whose real name is Kashif Alexander Sankar, was scheduled to perform at a concert called ‘Fete Fwadi’ in Bellevue, Dominica on September 7.

The organisers, while not specifying the exact reasons for the removal, have stated that they did not anticipate any issues when booking the artist and have apologized to fans who had already bought tickets.

These decisions were made following comprehensive security assessments and consultations with relevant local and regional authorities.

Kman-6ixx, known for his TriniBad music, has faced controversy due to his lyrics and alleged connection with the 6ixx Gang. Earlier this year, he was charged with two gang-related offenses in Trinidad and was granted bail.

The TriniBad genre has gained popularity among the youth, but its explicit and provocative content has sparked contention, with critics arguing that it glorifies criminal lifestyles and contributes to the normalization of violence in society.

Good move! We must do what is right, not what is popular – specially with young people who have yet to learn simple tasks like how to wear their caps correctly and their trousers properly, things that most other youngsters from developed and progressive societies and cultures have mastered by the age of 3! Time to snuff them out.
