Government to Acquire Jehovah’s Witness Property for Housing Mental Patients

The government has reached an agreement with the owners of the property, Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall, near Sea View Farm to purchase the property.

The intention is to relocate the patients currently housed at Clarevue Hospital to this new facility.

However, reliable government sources have revealed that the new facility will not retain the name Clarevue Hospital; instead, it will be known as a Wellness Centre, focusing on mental health and overall well-being.

The building, which is situated on 6 acres of land, was previously used as a worship center.

Both parties have settled on a purchase price of US$3 million. However, it is expected that additional funding will be necessary to renovate the building to accommodate patients and others seeking specialized care.

The government is keen to start afresh with this new facility, aiming to change the public perception of mental health care and emphasize a new focus on wellness.

This move comes in response to complaints about the living conditions at Clarevue Hospital.

The purchase of the Jehovah’s Witness property marks a positive step towards providing patients with a more modern and aesthetically pleasing facility.
